With USBands' new Band First pricing levels, the control is fully in the hands of the music educator to select the level of engagement and service needed for their individual program.

Three levels of Membership are now available and provide cost-effective and affordable educational opportunities for school music programs of all sizes and budgets.

USBands Value Membership is $375 and is for the up and coming band that participates in a few local events while building their program. This affordable alternative allows bands to select from the full array of 80 local competitions in the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions.

USBands Basic Membership is $450 and has been created to serve the marching band that competes annually in several local contests and caps off their season with a State or National Championship performance with added incentives making your membership more valuable to your program and your students.

USBands Prime Membership is $600 and is for the USBands power-users; providing discount registration to Premium events as well as a long-list of USBands features and access to exclusive opportunities with select USBands partners.

Here’s how it looks for six sample bands in each one of our Groups. Prices are averaged across all of the state registration fees. Actual prices may vary.

IMG_5143.jpgIt is with a sense of sorrow and joy that YEA! announces the departure of Jon Swengler from the organization as of Friday, April 12.

“Jon has been a fixture over the past eight years at YEA! and has been a stabilizing force for the organization over the last several months in his leadership role with USBands,” said Vicki Ferrence Ray, Executive Director of YEA!

“While we are sorry he will no longer be a formal member of the YEA! team, we are very excited for him and his family on his new professional adventure serving post-secondary education students as they embark on their future,” added Ferrence Ray.

Ben Regalado, Member of the YEA! Board of Directors and USBands Advisory Council said, “Jon is a wealth of knowledge and we are fortunate he has agreed to continue to share with us and advise us during the transition. We remain committed to the principles Jon put in place to serve to the best of our ability the educators, adjudicators, event staff and students in all facets of USBands.”

Announcements will be made shortly on additions to the USBands team for the 2019 season including Band Relations and leadership positions.

As always, contact marching@yea.org for any questions or services.

After the initial release of our new and improved Bands First Membership Program, we heard questions from directors and we would like to answer them for everyone in the easiest and most comprehensive way possible.

We encourage you to contact USBands for a customized prospectus on the differences between the levels of membership and which plan works best for you based on your goals and your 2019 schedule.

Q: What is the goal of this new USBands Membership Plan?

A: The goal is not to increase fees for groups, but to create a membership with more value and give groups opportunities to save.  Our ultimate goal is to provide options, rather a “one-size-fits-all” program.  With the new plan, bands can do more events, which allows programs to grow and students to have more positive experiences.

Q: What are the price points for each level of membership?

A:  Value Membership is $375, a savings of $75 from 2018. Basic Membership is $450, the same price as 2018.  Prime Membership is $600.

The Cadets are excited to introduce the drum majors for the 2019 season! Loren Gregory will be returning for her second season as a drum major with The Cadets, and she is joined this year by Daniel Regalado and Chris Martinez. The drum major selection process renewed with vigor back in November with 15 total auditions for the drum major positions. Each drum major was selected for their shown leadership skills and conducting ability.

"We had some really tough choices to make when it came to selecting a drum major," said Scott Litzenberg, Director of The Cadets. "We are thrilled that Loren is returning to the podium this season, and Daniel and Chris really round out the team into something special. Their group dynamic and leadership qualities will really lead the corps through the 2019 season."
